Tower Shops Cruise Night

The last friday of each month, a group of British car nuts invade the Cruise Night at the Tower Shops, proudly plant the Union Jack marking their territory... hey how did that Chevy truck got in...

OK, invasion is a slight exageration as American Iron still outnumbers British cars 100 to 1 ... if not more... but we do have a small group from both our own club and the British and Triumph Sports Car club, with a few British flags marking our territory.

If you have never been there, it's worth the drive, especially now in the summer time with daylight until 8pm. Beside our favorite British cars ( Jaguars, MGs, Triumphs, etc... ), hundreds of other cars are there to admire. Granted, some are not worth admiring, there are a few rust buckets and others in deperate need of love, attention... and dollars..., but others are worth the stroll down the aisles... From fully restored and tricked out muscle cars to hot rods and just plain nice old classics, it's a great way to take a short trip in the past and down good ole memory lane. When is the last time you walked past a Bel-Air, a 50 something Cadi and an old Ford pick up in a mall parking lot... No SUVs there... pre 1974 parking only please !

To wrap up the evening, we often have dinner at a nearby British pub just a few blocks down University... come and join us next month, on the last friday.

The Tower Shops center is located in central Broward, at University dr. and 595 ( that just 1 mile west of the Turnpike); it's only 30 minutes from most members. The show is on from about 4pm on and most people get there by 6:30 pm until late. Look for British Flags and pull right in !

Note to Netscape users : Netscape doesn't seem to handle image manipulations in Javascript as well as Internet Explorer.

Netscape 4.x limitations :
- the button used to change the size of the picture doesn't work
- vertical pictures appear distorded
- the formatting of the descriptions under the pictures doesn't blend as well...
These problems should be solved in Netscape 6.x but we've encoutered some occasional problems there as well. Changing the size of the picture works but buttons occasionally stop working and the vertical pictures simply disappear...
