Drive to the Flagler MuseumA group of about 25 members gathered at Boyton Beach's Ocean Inlet Park on April 1st for a foolish April fool day drive to visit the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach. Event coordinator John Sasson's plan to drive in reverse on this April fools day were quickly scrapped as E-type owners started to worry about such details as air flow thru the radiator of their cars and everybody left the park driving forward.
What was kept though, was the zigzag route between A1A and US 1 crossing every bridge along the way... Bridge openings over the intracoastal were a great opportunity to take pictures...
The group of 14 cars included 3 XJS, 4 E-types, 3 XJ6 and 2 XJ40s, a nice sampling, it was also a nice occasion to meet members who did not have a chance to come to events in the past.
The drive went smoothly, traffic was light, and we arrived at the Flagler museum early which gave us time for a quick walk to a nearby coffee shop; along the way we found a very nice sable Series 2 E-type convertible; the owner wasn't around but we left a couple of newsletter in his car...
The museum, set up in the mansion built by Henry Flagler at the end of last century... ooops... make that the one before... the XIXth..., served as a great backdrop to take pictures of the cars... what's new...
After a tour of the museum, we went for a short drive to Charly's on Palm Beach waterfront for a great brunch.

the bottom on this page.
Note to Netscape users : Netscape doesn't seem to handle
image manipulations in Javascript as well as Internet Explorer.
Netscape 4.x limitations :
- the button used to change the size of the picture doesn't work
- vertical pictures appear distorded
- the formatting of the descriptions under the pictures doesn't blend as
well...
These problems should be solved in Netscape 6.x but we've encoutered some occasional problems there as well. Changing the size of the picture works but buttons occasionally stop working and the vertical pictures simply disappear...
if you have MS Internet Explorer we suggest you use it to better view the galleries.
